Mara Replaces Lively In Soderbergh’s “Effects”

Rooney Mara (“The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo”) has committed to star in Steven Soderbergh’s “The Side Effects” for Open Road Films says Deadline.

Mara replaces Blake Lively as a troubled, depressed and often medicated woman who gets into a relationship with another doctor (Jude Law).

Her intake is to help her deal with the anxiety surrounding the pending release of her husband (Channing Tatum) from prison. Catherine Zeta-Jones also stars.

Scott Z. Burns wrote the script while Greg Jacobs and Lorenzo di Bonaventura are producing. Shooting begins in April.
