Marsden Replaces McConaughey As JFK

James Marsden is set to replace Matthew McConaughey as former U.S. President John F. Kennedy in Lee Daniels’ historical drama biopic “The Butler” which begins shooting later this month in New Orleans reports Variety.

The story chronicles the life of Eugene Allen, who served as a White House butler under an incredible eight presidents and through the years 1952 to 1986. Forest Whitaker and Aml Ameen will play Allen at different ages.

McConaughey departed the project due to scheduling conflicts. Marsden joins a cast that includes Oprah Winfrey, David Oyelowo, Alan Rickman, Jane Fonda, John Cusack, Robin Williams, Liam Neeson, Minka Kelly, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Terrence Howard, Lenny Kravitz, Alex Pettyfer, Colman Dingo and Vanessa Redgrave.
