“Parenthood” executive producer Jason Katims is developing a half-hour single camera comedy series based on the Nick Hornby book “About A Boy” and its 2002 movie adaptation starring Hugh Grant reports Deadline.
The story follows the relationship between a bachelor man-child and the young boy who moves in next door with his kooky single mother.
Working Title and Tribeca Productions, who produced the film ten years ago, sold the project to NBC with Katims onboard to write and executive produce.
Fox previously attempted to adapt the property for television back in 2003 but that version never came together.
