New “Knight Rises” Details, Posters, Clip

Two weeks out from release and with the first screenings to take place shortly, the buzz for “The Dark Knight Rises” is already at fever pitch. Warners has used today to release various promotional elements from the film that will only stir the excitement even more.

First up Hero Complex has done an excellent piece on director Christopher Nolan with some fantastic new photos of some of the incredible sets. Nolan says the primary goal of doing the film is “a unified statement, a real ending, a true conclusion”, and the piece’s author Geoff Boucher confirms that Nolan’s finale “takes Batman and his on-screen mythology to a place it has NEVER been before.”

The article also includes an interesting architectural metaphor for the trilogy – “a tale of different levels: the heights of the city, the street level and the underground of caves and sewers”. Nolan adds that “the thematic idea is that the superficial positivity is being eaten away from underneath; we tried to make that quite literal.”

Next up, the film’s complete 49-page production notes have gone online. Also, fourteen minutes of Hans Zimmer’s score is out but it’s not one piece – rather it is 60 seconds from each of the numbers on the official soundtrack strung together into one clip. That clip can be found at Youtube.

Then, there’s a new Hong Kong TV spot with quite a bit of new footage from the film which you can see below:

Finally a new app is up on iTunes which maps Batman, Bane and Catwoman masks to your photos. There’s also two new posters for the film – an IMAX promo poster, and a Bane-themed viral poster. Both are included below:
