New “Riddick” Film Gets An R Rating

It looks like Vin Diesel got his wish as “Riddick” is going to get drenched in bodily fluids.

Universal Pictures’ upcoming third film featuring Diesel’s famed anti-hero character has officially been given an R rating by the MPAA. The film scored the rating for “strong violence, language and some sexual content/nudity.”

This will come as welcome news for fans of the series who thought the PG-13 rating on the big-budget second film “The Chronicles of Riddick” hampered that movie creatively.

Left for dead on an isolated planet, Riddick (Vin Diesel) fights for survival against aliens and becomes more powerful than ever before. Soon after, bounty hunters from the far reaches of the galaxy attempt to capture the fugitive.

Karl Urban, Jordi Molla, Katee Sackhoff and Bokeem Woodbine also star in the film which hits cinemas next year.
