New Trance, Dead, Spidey, Vice, Captain Dates

This coming April 5th has suddenly become a fairly big release date. With “The Heat” the other day being pushed to later in the year, the date was left empty with no wide releases slotted in.

Both Fox Searchlight and Sony have moved in quick though. Searchlight quickly slotted in Danny Boyle’s upcoming thriller “Trance” for the date. Soon after, Sony bumped up its horror remake “Evil Dead” by a week to open on the 5th as well.

In news of a different kind of date, a couple of films have set rough start of filming dates.

“The Amazing Spider-Man 2” is set to begin shooting next month in New York City, from February 12th through the 26th and under the name “Untitled Columbia Pictures Project”.

Paul Thomas Anderson’s adaptation of “Inherent Vice” is said to be targeting a late April start.

Finally, “Captain America” is staying home for the sequel ‘The Winter Soldier’ which will begin production in April at Raleigh Manhattan Beach Studios in Los Angeles. Some location work is expected to take place in Europe, Cleveland and New Mexico.
