QED International and Groundswell Productions are teaming for “Birth of the Dragon,” an action film in which martial arts legend Bruce Lee is one of the lead characters.
The story is inspired by the true-life no-rules fight in San Francisco’s Triad-controlled Chinatown in 1965.
The fight, between Lee and China’s most famous kung fu master Wong Jack Man, will be used as a starting point for a bigger scale action movie with the pair battling Chinatown gangsters.
“Nixon” and “Ali” scribes Christopher Wilkinson and Stephen Rivele have been hired to pen the script. The pair will also produce along with Bill Block and Michael London.
