Peter Sollett (“Raising Victor Vargas,” “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist”) is set to direct the Ellen Page-led feature adaptation of the 2007 Oscar-winning documentary short “Freeheld” at Incognito Pictures says The Film Stage.
Ron Nyswaner (“Philadelphia”) wrote the script in which Page will play Stacie Andree, a woman denied the pension benefits of her terminally ill longtime partner and New Jersey police detective Laurel Hester.
Hester’s conservative detective partner Dane Wells stepped up to become the leader in the fight for Laurel’s rights to assign her benefits to Andree.
Jack Selby, Scott Stone, Stacey Sher, Michael Shamberg, Kelly Bush, Kristina Sorensen, James Stern and Cynthia Wade will produce.
