“Prometheus” Sequel Moving Forward

In an article about which of this Summer’s blockbusters are likely to spawn sequels or further chapters, The Hollywood Reporter indicates that 20th Century Fox is moving forward with a follow-up to Ridley Scott’s divisive sci-fi epic “Prometheus”.

Scott is expected to return, as are contracted stars Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace. Scott has previously stated that the sequel would move even further away from the quasi-“Alien” prequel template it adopted in the first film.

One person who isn’t attached to return at present is scribe Damon Lindelof due to “unavailability”. Somewhat unfairly, Lindelof took the brunt of the criticism against the movie which was widely lauded for its visuals but came under fire by portions of both the public and professional reviewers for its various narrative issues and inconsistencies.

Fox president of production Emma Watts says “Ridley is incredibly excited about the movie, but we have to get it right. We can’t rush it”.

The article also indicates sequels to both “Ted” and “Snow White and the Huntsman” are likely on the cards as well.
