After a first trailer which featured some beautiful visuals but felt a little too CG-heavy and lightweight, the second trailer for Sam Raimi’s “Oz: The Great And Powerful” is a marked improvement in every way.
While some have been worried Raimi was headed in the direction of Tim Burton’s profitable but terrible “Alice In Wonderland”, this trailer for “Oz” certainly displays much more coherence, ambition and a more engaging approach.
Story-wise it’s also a more interesting take, not a pseudo-sequel like ‘Alice’ but rather a direct prequel. Having Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams as your secret weapons helps a lot as well. Check it out below or in HD at Apple.com:
