“Sherlock Holmes” director Guy Ritchie and producer Lionel Wigram look to be taking over the spy thriller “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” at Warner Bros. Pictures says Deadline.
Ritchie would helm the film based on the 1960’s television series, replacing Steven Soderbergh who recently left the project over budget and casting difficulties. Scott Z. Burns penned the script.
Ritchie and Wigram have formed a production company together with a first look deal at Warner Bros. commencing in January. If they commit to this then the deal would commence with a high-profile project that’s essentially ready to go.
