Roger Avary Adapts Verhoeven’s “Jesus”

Roger Avary (“Pulp Fiction,” “Rules of Attraction”) has come onboard to pen the script based on Paul Verhoeven’s controversial “Jesus of Nazareth” book reports Deadline.

Verhoeven (“Total Recall,” “Robocop”) spent nearly two decades researching Jesus and plans to direct the story which discounts all the miracles of the New Testament including the immaculate conception and the resurrection.

In fact the book’s most controversial theories including Jesus might have been the product of his mother being raped by a Roman soldier, and that he was a radical prophet who was convinced he would find the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth.

Muse Productions’ Chris Hanley is financing development of the film.
