Sam Raimi is set to produce the remake of the 1982 supernatural horror classic “Poltergeist” at MGM reports Heat Vision.
Like the original, the story focuses on a family whose house was built on a holy site and whose daughter is taken by ghosts. David Lindsay-Abaire (“Oz: The Great and Powerful”) is working on the script,
Raimi is not directing the remake but will help in the search for a helmer. It’s one of two remakes MGM is working on at present, the other being “Carrie”, while Raimi is producing a remake of his own 80’s horror classic “Evil Dead”.
