The Twilight Zone
“Invictus” and “Sherlock Holmes” writer Anthony Peckham is in final negotiations to pen “The Twilight Zone” movie Warner Bros. Pictures and Appian Way.

Peckham will rewrite the original draft by Jason Rothenberg. Matt Reeves (“Cloverfield,” “Let Me In”) is set to direct. Shooting kicks off next Summer. [Source: Variety]

David Milch/William Faulkner
“Deadwood” creator David Milch has signed a long-term deal with the network to develop a television series based on the works of celebrated author William Faulkner.

The deal, which also involved Faulkner’s literary estate, gives Milch the ability to work with all of Falulkner’s novels and short stories with HBO given exclusive rights to finance, produce and distribute the films and series. [Source: The Celebrity Cafe]

Joy
Sony Pictures is negotiating to pick up ‘Colbert Report’ writer Max Werner’s comedy pitch “Joy” which Jason Winer (“Arthur”) will direct.

The story is based on a “This American Life” segment about people with cataplexy, a kind of narcolepsy which leads them to pass out whenever they feel a strong emotion. [Source: The Hollywood Reporter]

Guys Night
Millennium Films has acquired the rights to the Chris Baldi comedy “Guys Night” and has slated a spring production start date.

The story follows four men working at dead-end jobs and involved with less-than-satisfying relationships whose lives get more adventurous as they set out for a mystery island off the coast of New Jersey. [Source: Reuters]
