“Shooter” Pseudo-Sequel “Sword” On The Way

Robert Kamen (“The Fifth Element,” “The Transporter”) has been hired to pen “The Sword”, an adaptation of Stephen Hunter’s 2008 novel “The 47th Samurai” says Heat Vision.

The book is one of the series involving Hunter’s ex-marine character Bob Lee Swagger. This one has him tasked to find a sword his father won during the Battle of Iwo Jima.

When he delivers it to its owner in Tokyo, it’s discovered the sword is actually a priceless and historic katana, with shadowy forces willing to kill to retrieve it.

The Swagger-novel “Point of Impact” was previously adapted into the 2007 Mark Wahlberg-led “Shooter”. Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing.
