“Skyfall” IMAX Date, Song, Rating

More word on the upcoming 23rd James Bond feature “Skyfall” with news today that American audiences will get to see it a day earlier than expected.

Sony Pictures have confirmed that the film will screen in IMAX theatres only in North America on November 8th, one day earlier than the general release on the 9th.

Once again the franchise has opted out of a day-and-date global strategy, instead following a strange staggered release pattern with the UK and much of the world getting the film on October 26th or a week later on November 1st.

That’s followed by the U.S. on November 9th, two weeks later in Australia & New Zealand on November 22nd, and rounding out with South Africa and Japan a week after that.

Also, Showbiz411 reports that Adele’s new theme song for the film should be making its debut late next week.

Finally the MPAA has officially given the film a PG-13 rating for “intense violent sequences throughout, some sexuality, language and smoking”.
