Sony Pictures is set to remake Joel Schumacher’s 1990 medical students explore the afterlife thriller “Flatliners” reports Heat Vision.
The Peter Filardi scripted original centered on five medical students – Kiefer Sutherland, Julia Roberts, Kevin Bacon, William Baldwin and Oliver Platt – who bring subject themselves to near-death experiences in order to see if anything lies beyond.
After being revived they soon find themselves struggling to determine fantasy from reality as physical manifestations of childhood sins revisit them.
Original producer Further Films along with “The Lookout” producer Laurence Mark will also be involved in the redux which “Source Code” writer Ben Ripley is penning.
