Spielberg On “Robopocalypse” Delay

Steven Spielberg says that despite news of the project’s indefinite postponement the other day, he’s still very much committed to making his post-apocalyptic drama “Robopocalypse.”

The “Lincoln” helmer tells EW: “I’m working on it as we speak. We found that the film was costing a lot of money and I found a better way to tell the story more economically but also much more personally. I found the personal way into Robopocalypse, and so I just told everybody to go find other jobs, I’m starting on a new script and we’ll have this movie back on its feet soon.”

He estimates the delay on the production (and release) will be around 6-8 months. The film was originally slated to begin production this spring for a 2014 release.

No word as yet if currently attached talent Chris Hemsworth, Anne Hathaway and Ben Whishaw will stay that way.
