The other week when Sylvester Stallone-led action thriller “Bullet to the Head” was pulled from the schedule less than two months before release, eyebrows were quickly raised.
Then yesterday came a report by Twitchfilm saying that Stallone is now personally overseeing a new cut of the film, the new edit seemingly being done without director Walter Hill’s involvement. It also said the film is now looking at a potential November release date.
This lead to the two obvious questions of what in the world is happening behind-the-scenes on this film?, and would the original Hill cut ever see the light of day in the future?
In record time though both Hill and Warners actually issued an official response to AICN denying the claims. Here’s said response:
“Contrary to recent inaccurate and unfounded reports that Sylvester Stallone had taken over the editing of “Bullet to the Head”, director Walter Hill continues his editing of the movie. Walter Hill said today, “I’m currently finishing up and locking reels on the movie — as to the content and style of the film, Sly and I are in perfect sync. I’m delighted with the way the film is turning out and hopefully so will the audience.””
Despite the response, the first question remains – what in the hell is going on with this production?
