Sullivan Stapleton (“Strike Back”), Ryan Kwanten (“True Blood”) and Rachael Taylor (“Transformers”) are set to star in Tony Ayres’ Aussie thriller “Cut Snake” at Matchbox Pictures and eOne Hopscotch.
Blake Ayshford penned the script which is inspired by a real-life incident at Brisbane’s Whiskey Au Go Go nightclub in 1973.
Kwanten and Stapleton will play two ex-cons. Stapleton’s character, having just gotten out of jail, persuades Kwanten’s reformed character to pull off a robbery. In the process they set fire to a nightclub, killing 15 people.
Taylor plays the fiancé to Kwanten’s character. Trevor Blainey will produce and shooting on the film kicks off in the middle of next year.
