The first footage has arrived for J.J. Abrams’ much anticipated “Star Trek Into Darkness” and it’s epic. From the Enterprise emerging out of an ocean, to Benedict Cumberbatch’s mysterious stranger “returning to seek vengeance”.

This is a cut down version of the full-length teaser trailer, the one that will be seen in front of “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey”. That full version is set to debut online on December 17th.
Meanwhile the Japanese version, which can be seen here spots an extra 10 seconds that pretty much confirms this is a loose reimagining of “Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan”.
