With Sundance finishing up, the last cluster of acquisition deals has taken place.
IFC has scored the US rights to David Lowery’s Casey Affleck and Rooney Mara-led drama “Ain’t Them Bodies Saints”.
The story follows an outlaw who escapes from prison and sets out across the Texas hills to reunite with his wife and the daughter he has never met.
Meanwhile, Sony Pictures Classics have acquired all North American and U.K. rights to Richard Linklater’s “Before Midnight”.
The film is the third in Richard Linklater’s series following “Before Sunrise” and “Before Sunset,” and scored much acclaim at the festival.
Finally, Phase 4 Films has picked up North American rights to “Newlyweeds” and plans a day-and-date theatrical and VoD release this summer.
Shaka King’s debut film follows a disillusioned repo man in Brooklyn whose girlfriend urges him to better himself.
