With “Taken 2” having raked in nearly $ 50 million in its U.S. opening weekend (doubling the opening weekend box-office of the first film), it comes as no shock that the producers want to keep going.
In an interview with Hollywood.com, screenwriter Robert Mark Kamen says talks have already begun – “We didn’t start talking about [it] until we saw the numbers. But then we said, ‘Oh, okay. I think we should do a third one.’ And Fox wants us to do a third one.”
So just where in the hell would the story go? “We’ve taken everyone we can take. It’s going to go in another direction” says Kamen.
Doing press for the second film in recent weeks, star Liam Neeson was asked about the ending of the second film leaving the door open for a third one. “Do you think so? I don’t think. I think we’re finished. Mind you, I thought we were finished with the last one” he told The Coventry Telegraph.
