David Tennant and Billie Piper are set to reprise their roles as the tenth incarnation of The Doctor and his companion Rose Tyler respectively in the upcoming “Doctor Who” 50th Anniversary special.
In a just issued press release, it has been confirmed both actors are coming back to join current Doctor star Matt Smith and companion Jenna-Louise Coleman for the special. Also joining them is the legendary John Hurt in a major guest starring role.
Shooting kicks off in the UK this week on the special which is being penned by Steven Moffat and directed by Nick Hurran. It is expected to air in November.
The second half of the seventh season airs tonight on BBC1 in the United Kingdom and BBC America in the United States.
