Terry Gilliam Adapting “Mr. Vertigo”

Terry Gilliam is working on a script adaptation of Paul Auster’s 1994 novel “Mr. Vertigo” reports The Los Angeles Times.

The story follows Walter, a young orphaned boy from St. Louis who happens upon a mysterious traveler known as Master Yehudi. Yehudi trains Walter to fly and they begin traveling across the United States performing this feat at circus sideshows, facing challenges along the way including the Ku Klux Klan, the Chicago Mob, and Walter’s drunken uncle.

Gilliam has previously adapted other books into films of his including “The Adventures of Baron Munchausen” and “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas”.
