“The Boys” Comic Adaptation Resurrected?

“Anchorman” director Adam McKay says that the previously dead adaptation of the comic “The Boys” may have come back from the dead.

McKay, who became attached to the project last March, recently tweeted that Paramount has picked up the property. Said tweet was quickly removed.

The comic follows the adventures of a CIA squad, known informally as “the boys,” whose job it is to keep watch on the proliferation of superheroes and, if necessary, intimidate or eliminate them.

A film version has been in the works since 2009 and was last setup at Sony Pictures where it fell through due to it being a $ 100 million, R-rated, anti-superhero project – a tough sell even in good economic times.

Seth Rogen, Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay have previously tinkered on the script.
