“The Wolverine” Poster, Q&A Factoids

Hugh Jackman and director James Mangold participated in their online live-stream Q&A about “The Wolverine” today and in the process revealed a rather impressively designed teaser poster for the film. Both said poster, and the 22-minute chat can be viewed below.

Amongst the key points revealed is confirmation on the post-“X-Men: The Last Stand” setting. We’ll also learn what Wolverine’s equivalent of kryptonite is, and the action is a more grounded and real world setting. Mangold cites “The Outlaw Josey Wales” as a big influence on the film.

While there are other mutants, the villain isn’t clear cut and there are mystery elements to the plot. Gone is the theme of Wolverine seeking his identity, this time it’s more along the lines of David Tennant-era “Doctor Who” – how does a man deal with immortality?
