Yesterday came word that 20th Century Fox lost its appeal to the MPAA against the R-rating for the action-comedy “This Means War”. The studio wanted a PG-13 and lost, the MPAA giving the film an R for ‘some sexual content’.
Now, Reuters reports that rather than sitting with the higher rating, Fox has agreed to cut out several sex jokes by Chelsea Handler’s character and the MPAA has removed the R-rating, giving the stuffy their much wanted PG-13.
It’s not exactly known how raunchy the jokes were, but they were seemingly enough to push the film just over the edge of the rating. Graphic violence however was apparently fine to keep in.
