“Thor” Filming Reveals Massive Battle

Shooting began in Bourne Wood, Surrey on Monday for Marvel’s much anticipated sequel “Thor: The Dark World”.

The Daily Mail has posted some truly impressive set photos of a massive army battle underway replete with explosions, warriors on horseback and elaborate armour.

Jaimie Alexander’s Sif character is seen in the first round of photos which showed up on Monday. Then earlier today came the first shots of Hemsworth back in his Thor garb and whooping ass.

The photos certainly go to explain the hiring of frequent “Game of Thrones” episode director Alan Taylor with the tone emphasising less science-fiction and green screen in favour of more location shooting and an outright gritty fantasy vibe like the HBO series. Hemsworth recently indicated the sequel will have more of a “Viking influence” to it.
