Tim Burton’s “Wonderland” Gets A Sequel

Disney Pictures is moving forward on a sequel to Tim Burton’s 2010 take on “Alice in Wonderland”.

Despite many reviews labelling it the worst film of Burton’s career, not to mention it being given only a limited theatrical window, Disney made an absolutely astonishing $ 1 billion in worldwide box-office from the $ 150 million-budget film.

Today it stands as the twelfth highest-grossing film of all time, sandwiched between “Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace” and “The Dark Knight.” it’s also the second highest grosser of 2010 behind only Disney’s “Toy Story 3”.

Scribe Linda Woolverton is returning to write the follow-up, while Joe Roth, Suzanne Todd, and Jennifer Todd will return as producers.

At present it is unknown if any of the cast will return, or if Burton will be back in the director’s chair.
