“The King’s Speech” and “Les Misérables” director Tom Hooper is reportedly eyeing the Sacha Baron Cohen-led Freddie Mercury biopic at Sony Pictures and GK Films.
Peter Morgan originally penned the script about the late Queen frontman for filmmaker Stephen Frears (“The Queen”) to direct. Cohen has long been attached to play Mercury.
Meanwhile, Warner Bros. Pictures is reportedly now out to Ang Lee to helm the Moses biopic “Gods And Kings” which Steven Spielberg was previously attached to direct.
Lee is reportedly intrigued with the project but hasn’t had a formal meeting on the script.
