Trailer Updates: “Steel,” “Wolverine,” “Fast 6”

A bunch of trailer news has hit over the past 24 hours in answer to a rumor that emerged over the weekend.

Along with the already confirmed teaser trailer for “Star Trek Into Darkness” airing in front of non-IMAX copies of “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” the rumor suggested that next month we’d see the premiere of new trailers for the likes of “Man of Steel,” “The Wolverine,” “Pacific Rim,” “After Earth,” “R.I.P.D.” and “The Hangover Part III”.

Well, one of those titles has been confirmed while another has been shot down. Though we got a short teaser back in July, director Zack Snyder has now confirmed that the first full-length trailer for “Man of Steel” will debut in front of copies of Peter Jackson’s “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.”

On the flip side, director James Mangold has tweeted that there will be no trailer for “The Wolverine” in front of “The Hobbit,” and the first chance we’ll get to see one is early 2013. Filming on “The Wolverine” wraps today.

While we’re still waiting to hear about the others, Vin Diesel revealed in a Facebook posting when we’ll get a first look at the upcoming sixth film in the “Fast and Furious” series – during the Superbowl.
