With the release date set there’s been a big question as to just how much of a reboot the upcoming fourth instalment in the “Transformers” franchise will be. Two reports emerged today which both hint at the same thing – none of the humans will be back.
In an interview with E! Online, actor Josh Duhamel says “I don’t think anybody’s doing it. I know Shia [LaBoeuf]‘s not doing it. I don’t think Tyrese or Rosie [Huntington-Whiteley] or anybody else is doing it.”
After that came word from Bad Ass Digest which says it will in fact be a true sequel and follow the events of “Transformers: Dark of the Moon”. Where the reboot aspect comes in though is that the point of view for the audience is shifted from Sam Witwicky to the Transformers themselves.
As a result it’s “unclear which – if any – human characters will be back”. Their source adds the tone will be darker and more action oriented with less of Bay’s trademark attempts at humour – “Michael realized it needs to be more like the last hour [of Dark of the Moon].”
