TV News: Burn, Missionary, Elementary, SHIELD

Burn Notice
USA Network has confirmed it has renewed the long-running spy drama “Burn Notice” for a thirteen-episode seventh season to air next year.

That number pushes the show over the 100 episode mark. Seven million viewers tuned in for the mid-season finale back in August, while the second half of season six kicks off this Thursday. [Source: The Live Feed]

The Missionary
“Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” star Benjamin Walker has been cast as the lead in Charles Randolph’s HBO pilot “The Missionary.”

Walker will play an American missionary who gets caught up in Cold War intrigue while helping a young woman escape East Berlin. Icelandic director Baltasar Kormakur (“The Deep”) is helming. [Source: Variety]

Elementary
CBS’ “Elementary” has scored the coveted post-Super Bowl timeslot. The episode will go to air Sunday February 3rd at 10pm ET.

The modern “Sherlock Holmes”-inspired show has been averaging 14.2 million viewers and has won its Thursday 10pm timeslot in every broadcast against regularly scheduled programming this season. [Source: Chicago Tribune]

S.H.I.E.L.D.
Reports have emerged indicating that the “S.H.I.E.L.D.” TV series could begin filming as early as January to be ready in time for a debut next Fall on ABC. [Source: Twitter]
