TV News: Hannibal, SHIELD, Following

Hannibal
The first photos from NBC’s highly anticipated upcoming series “Hannibal” have gone online. The 13-episode first season is expected to air in the first half of 2013.

The stills include Mads Mikkelsen as the new Hannibal Lecter, along with shots of cast members Hugh Dancy and Laurence Fishburne. [Source: Le Blog Du Cinema via The Playlist]

S.H.I.E.L.D.
Ming-Na (“E.R.”) has joined Marvel TV’s series adaptation of the comic “S.H.I.E.L.D.” which Joss Whedon will executive produce.

Ming-Na will play Agent Melinda May, a top-notch pilot, weapons expert and soldier who is described as soulful but damaged by her time spent in combat.

Whedon is on board to co-pen the pilot with Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen. He may direct as well depending upon his schedule. [Source: The Live Feed]

The Following
Fox have announced a Monday, January 21st 9pm premiere date for their anticipated new drama “The Following” starring Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy.

The story follows an FBI agent who finds himself in the middle of a network of serial killers when a diabolical serial killer uses special technology to create them. [Source: Deadline]
