Star Trek: The Next Generation
One question Trek fans have been asking lately has finally been answered. CBS Films has announced a $ 118 R.R.P. for the Season 1 Blu-ray box-set of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” which hits U.S. stores on July 24th.

Walmart is offering the set for $ 79 while Amazon has it listed at $ 90 – essentially the same starting price the ‘Original Series’ remastered Blu-ray sets were being sold at. This is despite the TNG ones requiring considerably more work to get them into shape. [Source: TrekMovie]

Community
A leaked memo from Sony Pictures Television contains instructions on how the show’s cast should respond if questioned about the surprise exit of showrunner Dan Harmon from the acclaimed sitcom.

The full memo also says “We’re hoping that the news [of Harmon’s exit] will lose some steam over the next day, especially if we’re not perpetuating the topic in any way. We’re tracking the coverage and conversation and will circle back if we feel the need to re-shift our plan or messaging.” [Source: Digital Spy]

True Blood
Though HBO hasn’t renewed it yet for a sixth season, plans are already being made for when series creator Alan Ball bows out with his final episodes later this Summer.

Co-executive producer Mark Hudis is stepping into the role of show runner, with Ball stepping down but staying on as executive producer. The move allows Ball the time to develop the crime series “Banshee” for Cinemax and the medical drama “Wichita” for HBO. [Source: The L.A. Times]

Family Tree
Christopher Guest and Jim Piddock are working on an largely improvised and commercial free comedy series called “Family Tree” which they’re shopping around various premium cable channels.

All that’s known of the story is that it follows the efforts of one man (Chris O’Dowd) as he attempts to track down his real family. [Source: Vulture]
