TV News: Vikings, Widow, Exorcism, Mad

The Bible/Vikings
Americans love Jesus as the first episode of History Channel’s ten-part big-budget miniseries “The Bible” premiered on Sunday night to 13.1 million total viewers. That makes it the number one entertainment telecast of the year on cable TV.

Immediately after, the cable network’s first scripted series, “Vikings,” premiered to 6.2 million viewers – better than some of the free-to-air network numbers in the time slot and a very robust debut on its own. [Source: The L.A. Times]

Red Widow
ABC’s Russian mob in San Francisco thriller “Red Widow” scored 6.9 million viewers overall for its premiere and a 1.4/4 rating.

Those numbers tie with the already cancelled “Zero Hour” as the lowest-rated ABC series premiere on record among adults 18-49. [Source: Seattle PI]

Exorcism TV Series
Robert Kirkman (“The Walking Dead”) is teaming with executive producer David Alpert for a potential TV series based on Kirkman’s upcoming comic series set in the world of exorcism.

The story follows Kyle Barnes, a man plagued by possession since he was a child. Now an adult, he embarks on a spiritual journey to find answers but what he uncovers could mean the end of life on Earth as we know it. [Source: Bloody Disgusting]
