TV News: Walking, Da Vinci, Chuck

The Walking Dead
AMC has officially renewed zombie drama “The Walking Dead” for a third season which will commence next October. Last week’s second season premiere drew good reviews and a stellar 7.3 million total viewers.

The second episode saw only a minimal drop to 6.7 million viewers. The 13-episode second season will continue through until the end of November before taking a break and coming back mid-February with the remaining six episodes.

Da Vinci’s Demons
After their successful testing the waters with “Torchwood: Miracle Day”, Starz and the BBC are moving forward with the first project under their multiyear deal – David Goyer’s adventure series “Da Vinci’s Demons”.

The eight-episode historical fantasy series tells the “untold” story of the world’s greatest genius during his 20s in Renaissance Florence. Shooting begins early next year for a 2013 premiere.

Chuck
Angus MacFayden (“Braveheart,” “Saw III”) has been cast as the final major villain in a multiple episode arc at the end of the upcoming final season of “Chuck” on NBC.

MacFayden plays Nicholas Quinn, a former CIA agent who like Chuck has become a spy for hire – albeit exclusively for the bad guys. [Source: The Live Feed]
