Von Trier’s “Nyphomaniac” Gets Two Cuts

The controversial “Nyphomaniac” looks set to be “Antichrist” and “Melancholia” director Lars Von Trier’s next feature reports Screen Daily

The Danish auteur is set to explore “the erotic life of a woman from the age of zero to the age of 50.” The English language feature aims to begin production next Summer for a 2013 release.

Von Trier is reportedly planning two different cuts of the film due to likely issues with the censors. One will be a hardcore version featuring graphic scenes of youthful sexuality and penetration, plus there’ll be a softer version that can be shown in more mainstream cinemas.

Research is currently being conducted on the script which will consist of eight chapters. Producer Peter Aalbæk Jensen says the financing involved will determine “how pornographic it will be”, and says it will be both an amusing and erotic film.
