Wes Ball is set as director of the adaptation of the James Dashner’s young adult dystopian novel “The Maze Runner” at 20th Century Fox and Gotham Group says Deadline.
A young man named Thomas awakens with no memory and deposited into a community of boys trapped inside an enormous maze.
He soon learns they are part of a mysterious test, and finds it is his destiny to join the ‘maze runners’ and lead them to freedom.
Noah Oppenheim wrote the first draft of the script. Fox recently acquired Ball’s acclaimed feature film remake rights to Ball’s acclaimed short “Ruin”.
