Woody’s “Nero” Set For June 22nd

Sony Pictures Classics has announced a limited June 22nd U.S. theatrical release for “Nero Fiddled”, this year’s effort from filmmaker Woody Allen.

Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Jesse Eisenberg, Ellen Page, Penelope Cruz, Roberto Benigni, Judy Davis, Greta Gerwig and Alec Baldwin all star in the rom-com which consists of four vignettes.

Meanwhile Allen’s 1994 film “Bullets Over Broadway” is becoming a Broadway musical to premiere next year reports Reuters. Allen will pen the book for the musical which will feature existing music from the 1920’s in which the story is set.

The original film starred John Cusack as aspiring New York playwright forced to cast a mobster’s talentless girlfriend in his latest drama in order to get it produced. Dianne Wiest’s memorable portrayal of an alcoholic actress scored her an Oscar.
