“Zombieland” and “G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation” scribes Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese have been hired to pen a script that would turn the Hasbro toyline “Micronauts” into a feature film for J.J. Abrams and Paramount Pictures says Deadline.
The North American name for the Microman toyline, the toys came out in the 70’s and were effectively a precursor to the Transformers.
Paramount recently made a deal with Hasbro for the property which Abrams, Bryan Burk, Brian Goldner and Bennett Schneir would produce.
Wernick and Reese are also attached to pen the pilot for a half-hour comedy TV series spin-off of “Zombieland” says The Hollywood Reporter.
Sony Pictures Television would develop the film with an eye for broadcasting in the 2012-13 TV season.
