Description: MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd., based in Richmond B.C., has over 40 years of experience building systems and software for Canadian and international customers. Since 2001, when the Agile Manifesto was released, MDA has been gradually introducing the use of agile methods into its software development process. In some cases the approach has worked well. In others, it has created unexpected challenges. This presentation will highlight some of the benefits and pitfalls that we’ve encountered along the way and will provide some insight into the criteria we use to determine whether agile methods are a good fit for a particular project.
Speaker: Shawn McCann is an Engineering Manager at MDA. He has 20 years of systems and software engineering experience and spent the past 5 years working with MDA’s various subsidiary companies, helping them to leverage new technologies and improve their software development processes.
