12/08/2011 – Manage corporate environmental impacts and enhance the bottom line

Global business standards institute to deliver free seminar to Vancouver-area companies

BSI Group Canada Inc., the world leader in global standards certification and training, is holding a free seminar for Vancouver-based companies on ISO 14001, the standard for environmental management and ISO 50001, a newly released standard for energy management. Both help executives to better measure, monitor and manage resources to reduce corporate environmental impacts and save money.

“This presentation is about making sure Canadian companies are competitive by helping executives implement global best practices in a systematic and practical way,” said Gary Robinson, Commercial Director, BSI Group Canada Inc. “Managing environmental impacts can be costly and complicated. We help companies implement efficient and scalable programs that will benefit their bottom line and the environment.”

Adopting standardized management programs in environmental management allow companies to:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to achieving legal and regulatory compliance to regulators and government
  • Demonstrate an innovative and forward thinking approach to customers and prospective employees
  • Increase access to new customers and business partners
  • Better manage environmental risks, now and in the future
  • Address the delicate balance between maintaining profitability and reducing environmental impacts
  • Enhance corporate reputation
