It has been over a year since Gartner added “Gamification” to its 2011 Hype Cycle for Emerging Technologies and it again included it in their 2012 list as well. According to Gartner “Gamification” as a trend is “at its peak”. Deloitte also has listed”Gamification” as #2 in its Tech Trends 2012 list.
Wikipedia provides two definitions of “Gamification”, “the use of game mechanics and game design techniques in non-game contexts” and “Gamification is about achieving goals using an engaging set of metrics-based interaction.”
