Coping With Resistance in Making Agile Work

Good ideas are not accepted just because they are good ideas. At some stage, everyone experiences resistance, often seemingly irrational resistance from rational people.

In this talk, Marius de Beer will discuss the mechanics of resistance, and practical steps for coping with it.

Resistance is frequently experienced by those seeking to transition to Agile software development methodologies, and is not limited to Agile newcomers. It can strike at any moment on any front, even after years of applying Agile thinking. Even when the evidence is overwhelming and chances of success are above average. Understanding resistance and ways to cope with it is essential if you want your initiatives to succeed.

The discussion will be rich in case studies and real situations from Marius’ experience helping 12 organizations adopt an Agile mindset. There will be ample time for questions and sharing experiences of audience members.
