Mayfair Lakes Golf & Country Club Review

The Mayfair Lakes golf course will make you happy – even on the gloomiest of days. The views from the tee boxes are filled with deep green colours from the pristinely kept fairways and greens to the thickly cut rough. Lots of beautiful water flows throughout the course, providing hazards on nearly every hole.

The sand bunkers are well groomed, unique in design and some even border the waterfront. Many of the sand traps are placed in key positions, to maximize your opportunity of taking a shot from the bunkers!

The greens were perhaps the best part of the course (other than the scenery). Beautifully maintained, the greens play very fast, but most importantly – they are consistent! From one green to the next, you can be sure that your putt will roll with the same resistance and true to the slopes.

My favourite Par 3 was hole 15, where the flag was placed 186 yards away, behind the water hazard and the large lipped sand trap. My choice for best hole goes to the 411 yard hole 14, which is a long and narrow Par 4 bordered by water on your left and out of bounds on your right. Make sure you don’t hook or slice on this one!

At a total yardage of 6641 from the blues tees and 6476 from the white tees, it’s a flat course that you can easily walk without feeling tired by the end of it all.

Mayfair Lakes Golf & Country Club consists of a fully stocked pro shop, golf academy, driving range, putting green, conference and wedding facilities and the casual but elegant Lakeside Grill offering West Coast cuisine. Located in Richmond just off HWY 91 (at No. 7 Rd.), Mayfair Lakes is nestled amongst farmland and orchards. Views of the Northshore Mountains can be seen from many of the holes. For some breathtaking views on a beautifully maintained golf course, be sure to reserve your tee time at the pro shop (bookings taken up to 5 days in advance).
