A full-scale teacher’s strike in British Columbia will start Monday.
B-C Teachers Federation President Susan Lambert has announced that at 6am they informed the employer, who will inform school districts across the province, that starting on Monday March 5th, 41-thousand teachers in public schools with withdraw their services.
The strike will last three days.
The Labour Relations Board is allowing the union to stage a full walkout one-day-per-week, following the initial 3-day strike.
Later today debate begins in the Legislature on Bill 22, the Liberal Government’s back-to-work legislation that will make any strike by teachers illegal.
