A good size turn out at a jobs fair in Burns Lake today.

It seems there are jobs to be had for Burns Lake residents, who saw their main employer go up in smoke last month, as long as they’re willing to travel around the region.

Jobs Minister Pat Bell says there were more than 1300 positions on offer at a jobs fair in the central interior community today.

He said “ranging from labourers which were by far and away the largest single chunk, to management positions, many skilled trades positions of course as well. Altogether we had about 400 people attend the fair looking for positions, which again i think is very very good.”

Meanwhile the province continues to work on the issue of timber supply needed to convince the owners of the Babine forest products mill to rebuild.

It exploded and burned down three weeks ago.
