Abbotsford police looking for man after break and enter, crash and car jacking

The search is on for a car-jacking suspect who managed to evade police in Abbotsford Friday night.

Abbotsford Police say they were called to a home in a rural area of Nicholson Road just after 5pm.

When they arrived, a man fled in a pickup truck stolen from Burnaby, striking a police vehicle at the end of the driveway.

When officers laid down a spike belt minutes later, the man drove through it and crashed with another car.

He then got out, and forced a woman out of her Toyota Corolla at gunpoint.

The man, described as Caucasian in his 20’s or 30’s, took off westbound on the Trans-Canada Highway.

Police have been unable to locate the man or vehicle, with license plate 726PHL.
